SCOUT ANTONIO TORILLO

Our Boy Scouts never made it to Greece. Their plane went down over the Indian Ocean. The 22 Boy Scouts are commemorated in 23 streets in Quezon City. Albano, Bayoran, Borromeo, Castor, Chuatoco, de Guia, Delgado, Fernandez, Fuentebella, Gandia, Limbaga, Lozano, MadriƱan, Magbanua, Ojeda, Rallos, Reyes, Santiago, Tobias, Torillo, Tuazon and Ybardolaza. The 23rd street to commemorate the Boy Scouts is named 11th Jamboree near GMA 7. Eagle Scout Antonio Torillo was born to Rios-Torillo clan of Rosario, Cavite. He is the brother of Valentino Rios Torillo aka Lady Valerie. A street in Quezon City was named in honor of him. Si Lady Valerie ay isang magaling at kilalang manunugtog na Pilipino sa piano at electronic organ sa ballroom dancing sa Pilipinas. Ang tunay niyang pangalan ay Valentino Rios Torillo at siya ay pinanganak at lumaki sa Rosario, Cavite noong decada 50. Ang kanyang kapatid na lalaki ay si Eagle Scout Antonio Torillo na isa sa mga Boy Scouts na nasawi sa pagsabog ng KLM Airlines sa gawing bahagi ng Indian Ocean noong decada 60.Ang kalsadang Scout Torillo sa Quezon city ay ipinangalan sa kanya.Si Lady Valerie ay may mga recordings sa tape at cd na mabibili sa mga record stores. PHYLLIS ZABALLERO - Magnificence of Things Called Art

         this one must be dedicated to her birthplace entitled "Rosario, Cavite" 2007                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Phyllis Zaballero was born in Rosario, Cavite but raised in the US and Europe. She graduated her primary and secondary educations at Notre Dame Academy in Boston, and Ecole Internationale de Geneva in Switzerland. Phyllis graduated in University of the Philippines twice, Bachelor of Arts in  Economics (1964)  and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting (1978) Magna Cum Laude and was also named as one of the CCP 13 Artists Awardee the same year. Alejandro G. Abadilla (March 10, 1906–August 26, 1969), commonly known as AGA, was a Filipino poet, essayist and fiction writer.He was born to an average Filipino family on March 10, 1906, in Salinas, RosarioCavite. He finished elementary school at Sapa Barrio School, then continued for high school education in Cavite City. After graduation, he worked for abroad into a small printing shop in Seattle, Washington. He edited several section of the Philippine Digest, Philippines-American Review and established Kapisanang Balagtas (Balagtas' Organization). In 1934, he returned to the Philippines where he finished AB Philosophy at the University of Santo Tomas. Until 1934, he became municipal councilor of Salinas before shifting to insurance selling job. He had eight children with wife Cristina Zingalava. He died on August 26, 1969. ART NEO - Of Colors And Emotions

TOTIE BUENDIA (Ireneo Buendia) Born: April 27 Rosario, Cavite. He is an avant garde artist known for his artistic and fashionable airbrush paintings. He used to work in Playgirl and other fashion magazines in the US. His previous works now hang in houses and businesses of famous celebrities and businessmen like James Cooper, Maricel Soriano, Fanny Serrano and Edwin Samot, as well as imprinted on the gowns and barong tagalogs of Ole Morabe, Adrian Rios, Digo Dones and other fashion designers. The sixth among seven children, Neo "Totie" has been interested in drawings since he was eight. He was just nine when his teachers noticed his rare artistic abilities. At an early age, he did renditions of a wide variety of subjects, including Vargas girls, Tarzan and mermaids. Since arts is his ambition, he decided to enroll in commercial art at the University of Santo Tomas and PWU both prestigious art schools in Manila. After four years of studies, he went to US for more opportunities and to widen his horizon in commercial arts. He likes to work in pencil, acrylic, airbrush and paints. His assignments included artworks for the Broadway Dept. Stores in Los Angeles, Calif wherein his works then were usually being featured in Los Angeles Times. He did some illustrations for various magazines like Playgirl, The Advocate, Blueboy, Torso and Village News. Some of his projects included Hollywood star Zsazsa Gabor's ad for Xmas promo card, Vidal Sassoon's catalogue, LA Disneyland's ads for disco opening.  Other paintings were featured in some Pinoy movies like The Dolzura Cortes Story(Vilma Santos), Dyesebel (Alice Dixon) and comedy film Tanga and Chos (Joey deLeon and Jon Santos) His not so recent works were exhibited in art galleries and venues like Island Cove and diff. hotels in Manila.
