Happy 4th of July sa mga taga USA! Happy Filipino-American Friendship Day sa Pilipinas!

.
It is Fourth of July in America and Fil-Am Friendship Day in the Philippines today..so I am featuring one of the most significant places worth remembering to all the Cavitenos - SANGLEY POINT in its heydays. I am very sure all our kababayans will agree that Sangley Point played a pivotal role why there are so many Fil-Americans or to be specific Caviteno-Americans(CavAm) in the US of A now.
Naval Station Sangley Point was a major ship-repair and supply facility of the US Navy, which occupied the northern portion of the Cavite City peninsula and is surrounded by Manila Bay, approximately eight miles southwest of Manilathe Philippines. Up until World War II, the station was headquarters of the U.S. Asiatic Fleet. The naval station had a runway, which was used by U.S. Navy patrol planes. It was also used extensively during the Vietnam War. The naval station was turned over to the Philippine government in July 1, 1971.
